ABOUT THE ILA SOUTH ATLANTIC and GULF COAST DISTRICT OFFICE

Longshoremen
are a vital segment of maritime commerce.
More than 11 million containers arrive at U.S seaports yearly, carrying
more than 95 percent of the nation’s non-North American trade by weight
and 75 percent by value.
The roots of the International Longshoremen's Association(ILA) date all the way back to colonial America and the arrival of ships bearing goods from Europe.
The ILA South Atlantic and Gulf Coast District Office serves and assists the locals in this region.
