Dear Friends:
Wow! Did we just skip 2022? Is it just me thinking the year just “zoomed” by [no pun intended]. 2022 has been a very good year. I am particularly looking at Georgia and the mid-term elections; I am looking at record cargo in many of our ports; I am looking at reduced pressures from the pandemic; I am looking at the democratic forces at work at the many locals having elections. There are many reasons for celebrating 2022. We now turn our attention to a new year. 2023 will bring an International Convention and the re-election of our great President Harold Daggett and his team! We look forward to contract negotiations with our employer partners. We look forward to continued prosperity for our port communities. We look forward to continued strides in healthcare and safety protocol. I am honored to serve the ILA. Barbara and I wish you the best for 2023, a happy, healthy, and safe 2023.
