BIG NEWS OUT OF NEW ORLEANS: ILA Local 2036 Maintenance & Repair has reached a groundbreaking agreement that secures a strong six-year contract at the Port of New Orleans!
Led by President Blaine Ehrlich, the local successfully finalized a deal that not only locks in labor stability but also delivers meaningful improvements that put members and their families first.
A message from ILA Local 2036 President Blaine Ehrlich:
“7-22-25 History was made in New Orleans, LA. ILA local 2036 MNR has officially signed their local contracts for the next 6 years….this contract ignites and identifies the meaning behind quality of life benefits for its members and their families.
The benefits package locally includes 1-4 week paid time off at prevailing rate including fringes paid for a $1.30 tool pay bonus check for every hour you work, 3 days paid bereavement pay for immediate family loss at prevailing rate, and a $2-$4 differential above prevailing rate for all lead men. On the non-master side, a $12 increase in wages up to $48 an hour for all power mechanics working non-master work and much much more! This local contract signifies positive morale, growth, and quality of life benefits for the members and their families. Myself and my team behind me put a package together that will remain and grow for years and years to come and be put down in the history books. I am honored to be the members’ leader for local 2036 and it’s a privilege to be part of ILA . It’s a blessing to make a difference here in New Orleans for the members and this association.
