Dear Friends,
Did anyone see 2025 go by? What a year it has been.
Our historic contract stands at the top of a long list of significant moments in 2025—a testament to the strength, unity, and resolve of the men and women of the International Longshoremen’s Association. Along the way, we lost some good friends and great leaders whose memories will forever remain a blessing to us all.
We also faced challenges to our industry—challenges that will continue to test us—but as we leave 2025 and enter 2026, we do so with renewed hope, confidence, and strength of purpose. We remain firmly committed to staying on our path of progress.
As we look ahead to the new year, we embrace unity and harmony while honoring our collective diversity, solidarity, and vigor. We are blessed with strong leadership in our International President and Executive Vice President, and we are confident they will continue to guide our union wisely through even the most taxing times.
I want to extend my sincere thanks to all of our local leaders—our presidents, vice presidents, business agents, and officers—whose hard work and dedication on behalf of the membership never go unnoticed. Your commitment is the backbone of our success.
To my ILA brothers and sisters, thank you for your continued support, sacrifice, and professionalism in doing what we do best—keeping America’s commerce moving.
Thank you for the honor and privilege of serving you as President of the South Atlantic and Gulf Coast District. Barbara and I wish you and your families a very healthy, safe, and happy New Year.
God bless America.
God bless the ILA.
Happy 2026!
Sincerely,
Alan A. Robb
President
South Atlantic and Gulf Coast District, ILA
