Thanksgiving Message to the ILA Membership from ILA SAGCD President Alan Robb
November 25, 2025
Brothers and Sisters,
As we gather with our families and loved ones this Thanksgiving, I want to take a moment to speak directly from the heart to the proud men and women of the International Longshoremen’s Association.
Every day, you keep the ports of this nation moving. You move the cargo that keeps America strong. You show up early, work late, face the elements, and stand shoulder to shoulder with your fellow longshore workers—upholding a tradition of toughness, skill, and unity that stretches back generations. I am grateful for each and every one of you.
This year has brought challenges, but it has also reminded us of the incredible strength within this union. Your dedication, your loyalty to each other, and your commitment to the ILA make our District what it is: the strongest, proudest, most resilient workforce in the maritime industry.
I am especially grateful for our veterans, who not only served this nation but continue to serve our ports with honor. And I am thankful for the families who support our members—the wives, husbands, partners, and children who make sacrifices so we can do our jobs and provide for our communities.
On this Thanksgiving, I want you to know how deeply I appreciate the work you do and the trust you place in this union. We are entering a new chapter together—one of growth, opportunity, and continued solidarity. And I promise you this: I will always fight for you, stand with you, and work every day to make sure the ILA remains strong for generations to come.
From my family to yours, I wish you a safe, joyful, and blessed Thanksgiving holiday.
In solidarity,
Alan Robb
