ILA and Partners Donate to the Star of Hope

Houston, Texas – On December 17, 2020, the Star of Hope received a significant donation from the ILA – South Atlantic and Gulf Coast District (SAGCD), West Gulf Maritime Association, Marine Repair Services – Container Maintenance Corporation out of Charleston, South Carolina, and ILA Locals 24, 28 and 1351.

Alan Robb, SAGCD President, spoke with Larry Freeman, District Director for Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee, about how the ILA continues to support organizations and those in need during this holiday season. Tim Harris, ILA Local 28 Vice President, described how the ILA can provide job training skills to men and women and opportunities at the ILA. 

Star of Hope is a Christ-centered community dedicated to meeting the needs of homeless men, women and their children. Positive life changes are encouraged through structured programs which focus on spiritual growth, education, employment, life management and recovery from substance abuse.
