ILA Honors Veterans in Flag Folding Efforts

On Wednesday, February 24, 2021 the ILA joined Congressman Al Green’s office, CWA Local 6222, Texas Union Veterans Council, Elevators Union, U.S. Navy Houston Recruiting District, Unified Veterans and CWA Retiree Club in folding 900 U.S flags that have flown over the United States Capital in honor of our Nation’s Veterans.  Steve Sanders, Secretary-Treasurer of ILA Local 24 in Houston, TX and a United States Army Reserve veteran, represented the ILA in the flag folding efforts. 

Every year Congressman Al Green takes these flags to each veteran, as a thank you for their selfless service to our country and a reminder that they are appreciated and not forgotten.  The folded flags will later be presented to patients at the Michael E. Debakey Veterans Affairs Hospital.
