In Memory of Jerome Williams

On October 30, 2020, at 10:00 AM, all operations came to a halt at the Port of Savannah, where ILA Local 1414 and the Georgia Ports Authority (GPA) gathered together to show respect and to remember union brother Jerome Williams.  Brother Williams fell into the water while transiting the gangway and lost his life shortly before 3:00 AM on Tuesday morning.  Brother Williams had worked for the local as a longshoreman for over 20 years.

ILA Local 1414 President Jackie Robinson and GPA Executive Director Griff Lynch spoke briefly about Mr. Williams and gave some comforting words to his family, who were in attendance for the moment of silence.
